Kristen was born on April 9, 1990. Born to parents who worked in films and TV, Kristen herself started acting at an early age. Her first significant role was in The Safety of Objects (2001). Soon after she was seen in the film Panic Room (2002) and was nominated for the Young Artist Award.
She was once again nominated for the Award for her role in the film Cold Creek Manor (2003). She finally won the Award for the critically acclaimed film Into the Wild (2007).
When she was only 17, Kristen bagged the roll that turned her into a star overnight. She appeared in the lead role of Bella Swann in the blockbuster Twilight series. She won the MTV Movie Award for Best Female Performance for this role.
Since then the actress worked in films that got her a huge fan following as well as critical acclaim. Kristen has been a part of projects like Adventureland (2009), Welcome to the Rileys (2010), The Runaways (2010), Snow White and the Huntsman (2012) and On the Road (2012).
Kristen couldn’t have asked for anything better. At the age of 22 she has won the prestigious BAFTA Rising Star Award, has delivered #1 summer box office hit in the year 2012 and has also worked in a film that was selected at the Cannes Film Festival. She definitely is one of the strongest young actresses in Hollywood today with a total of 32 wins and 37 nominations registered to her name at various Awards.
Unlike many other successful actresses who choose to go under the knife with the hope of grabbing some great offers, Kristen Stewart has strongly voiced an opinion against the idea of making artificial changes to one’s looks. In a controversial interview the actress not only declared that she will never opt for any form of surgical procedures to change her looks but also said harsh words against women who had made that decision.
Kristen confessed that the idea of going under the knife completely freaked her out and that she had no intentions of changing anything about the way she looks. In a comment that might come across as offensive to all the actresses who admitted going for surgical procedures, Kristen said that she thinks the women who go for surgery are losing their minds!
Such a strong resentment towards plastic surgeries, despite the fact that it has become a trend in Hollywood is due to the fact that Kristen finds Hollywood an extremely sexist place. Any attempt to fit into the norms would naturally seem to her an act of succumbing to the pressures and demands of the “disgustingly sexist” industry, as she calls it.
